Home: Rockets in the Roof - Jan 2008

Well the New Year came and went, from the roof we can see most of the Rheine valley including Cologne (if we get the neighbour to cut off the top of their trees that is) and the fireworks where quite astounding when the mist allowed you to see them.
After about 30 minutes, the main barrage starts to die down and the mist turns into a thick fog/smoke. If you happen to stick your nose out you get an idea of what one may expect in a sort of Hades anti-chamber with wisps of sulphuric /ex-gunpowder and other obnoxious smells. Sticking your nose out also means keeping your head down, as it’s a bit risky with unmanned rockets roaming the skies looking for any opportunity to drop in on some un-expecting sekt inebriated lookingouter.
